Physical Info
Phsical Description: She has dark brown hair that reaches about chin
length, and is almost /always/ unkept. The only time she'll make an
effort to control it is for gathers or other special occasions. She
has light green eyes, and a good tan, due to the time she spends
outside. There's a smattering of freckles across her nose and
cheeks. Her nose is slightly crooked, marring what would be a
beautiful face. As it is, she's still rather pretty, in an odd,
unconventional way. Her hands are rough from all the work she does
with the nets, and as a result, she's well muscled. She's average
height (about 5'5) and is /not/ what you would call waif-like. Far
from it. She's lean, but could probably lose a few more pounds
without looking anorexic.
Clothing/Weapons: She can most often be seen wearing simple, but well
made pants and shirts, and will wear finery any chance she gets. She
enjoys wearing bright, colourful clothes in jewel-tone coloursblues
and reds are her favourites. She doesn't carry much in the way of
weapons except for a beltknife which she uses for just about
everything.
Personality: Leine is smart, and funny, and loves to tease people.
She can be witty, but often takes her teasing too far, and ends up
getting on people's nerves. Sometimes she's a little lost when it
comes to socializing in big groupsshe likes it better if it's just
her and a few other people. She keeps herself slightly aloof from
people until she gets a feel for them, in which case she either likes
them, or she doesn't. If she doesn't like you, she'll ignore you at
best, insult you at worst. If she likes youwellshe'll still insult
you, but she won't mean it. She doesn't take criticism well. She very
sensitive about her faults and will get very defensive if someone
mentions them. She can be very boisterous, having grown up as the
daughter of a fisherman, but can also be what people would call a
girly-girl. Having never grown up with much finery, she wears it
whenever she can. She loves dresses, and nice clothes in general.
Her one major fault would be that she develops crushes easily,
basically if it's male, and it looks good, she'll find it attractive.
Having said that, personality does matter, and if you don't have one
(or the wrong type) she'll quickly get over the crush. She has a
soft spot for handsome, funny, charismatic guys (think class clown)
but would never think of making the first move.
History:
Leine grew up in a relatively normal household. Her father was a
fisherman, and her mother was a weaver. She was the only child, so
she helped her father, mending nets and traps, learning about fish,
how to gut them, how to clean them, and especially how to cook them.
She spent most of her time outside, either playing with the other
hold children, or helping mend nets and generally helping around the
hold. She'd never imagined living anywhere other than Half-Circle
she loved the hold, the ocean, the smells, and fully expected she'd
grow up, marry and start a family. That all changed when the
dragonrider arrived just before her 17th birthday. The bluerider
searched her, and brought her to Igen Weyr, where she stood twice on
the sands, and twice failed to Impress. Having lived at a weyr for
two years, and finding she enjoyed it and there was more to life than
being married and having a family, Leine decided not to go back to
Half-Circle. Realising that she'd never Impress at Igen, she jumped
at the chance to travel to the southern continent to repopulate
Shadowridge, hoping her luck would be better there, and looking for a
new adventure. She waits patiently for the queen to clutch, and
hopefully will impress this time around.
